The HiPoTek PCV Baffled Canister allows for the proper operation of the PCV system without sucking excessive oil into the intake manifold. This helps with stock and performance engines alike. It is a system of baffles where the oil coalesces out of vapor form and passively drains back into the engine before it gets drawn into the intake manifold. Valve cover baffles help prevent oil from splashing up from the rockers and into the PCV hose. However, a considerable amount of oil is in vapor form and goes up and around the valve cover baffles ending up in the intake manifold. For instance, the stock valve cover has a full baffle and oil still gets around it in vapor form and is drawn up into the intake manifold.

Unlike a catch can that needs to be periodically drained manually, the HiPoTek PCV Baffled Canister automatically drains back into the engine once the oil vapor coalesces into a liquid. Another draw back of a catch can is that once a catch can is full, it no longer functions until you remember to drain it manually which can be a messy job. With the HiPoTek PCV Baffled Canister, you don’t have to worry about draining it or where you are going to mount it

The HiPoTek PCV Baffled Canister also comes with the HiPoTek PCV  valve (part no. PCV1) that works well with the lower vacuum signal of a performance camshaft, which further helps prevent oil from being sucked up into the intake manifold.

It is also recommended that a closed pcv system is utilized for best results which does not interfere with engine performance. A closed pcv system has a breather, typically on the driver’s side valve cover, which has a feed hose going to the air cleaner. The pcv valve is on the opposite side (passenger’s side) that feeds to the intake manifold or throttle body.

Requires a grommet with a 1” ID to fit your valve cover.

It fits in the stock steel 5.2/5.9 magnum valve cover grommet or the Mopar Performance cast aluminum valve cover grommet with a 1" ID. Other valve cover grommets may be used depending upon the type of valve cover being used as long as the grommet has an inside diameter of 1” .
